Dr. Jordan recently joined the chiropractic team at NorthLakes Community Clinic – Park Falls. We wanted to share with you a little more about Dr. Jordan and why he chose to become a chiropractor, along with what you can expect if you schedule an appointment with him.
What made you decide to be a chiropractor?
I loved playing football in college. But, I had frequent episodes of low back pain. Sometimes it was so bad, I could hardly move for days. One day I was bent over tying my cleats and my low back locked up. My back was so tight I couldn’t put my hand on the ground to get in my stance. After trying different stretches and muscle stimulation I found little relief. That’s when I decided to try a chiropractor. I told him what was going on and he looked at me and said “I can fix that”. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I wasn’t expecting quick results because I have been dealing with this for long. He adjusted me and told me to get down in my stance. To my amazement I had all if not more of my range of motion and flexibility back. I thought that was so incredible that he was able to take my pain away just like that. I was so amazed on how good I felt after that I knew I wanted to give other people that same feeling. I wanted to take away people’s pain just like that chiropractor did for me.
What do chiropractors do?
Chiropractors treat many conditions of the neuromusculoskeletal systems without the use of drugs or surgery. We treat these conditions, such as neck and low back pain, headaches, extremity pain and even conditions like ear infections, using Chiropractic Adjustments as well as offering other services, such as muscle stimulation, therapeutic ultrasound, mechanical traction, myofascial release technique etc. to help enhance the adjustment.
What can patients expect when they see you?
Patients can expect a thorough examination and explanation of their conditions. Patients will receive individualized care tailored to their needs. It is my mission to make my patients feel like they are heard and well taken care of.
What advice do you have for people to live a healthier life?
Move well, eat well and think well.
Why do patients choose to see you?
I’ve had a chance to visit with some patients on what they like about how I approach medicine. Some of the most common responses include:
- They feel I listen to them. I try hard to be a good listener and I truly care about what they have to say.
- I take my time with each patient. I take time to evaluate and check things for them, along with getting to know them as individuals.
- They appreciate the different muscular techniques I use on them, such as Graston and myofascial release technique.
Dr. Jordan has a Bachelor’s degree in exercise science with a medical emphasis in rehabilitation. He is certified in Graston and has additional training in myofascial release technique. He has a sports emphasis, along with additional training in geriatric and pediatric care.
